Important Rules for Sending RCS Messages

To ensure that everyone enjoys a positive experience with RCS messaging, it’s essential to adhere to a set of important guidelines. Let’s explore these key rules:

  1. Opting Out: Giving Customers Control

  • “STOP” Means STOP: If a customer replies to your RCS message with “STOP,” it means they don’t want to receive any more messages from you. We must respect this.
  • Confirmation Message: Our system will automatically send a confirmation message to the customer, letting them know they’ve been successfully unsubscribed.
  • A Small Charge: Please note that we currently charge for this confirmation message.
  • Important: Even though we charge for this message, it is a requirement to send it. In the rare case that your account runs out of credits, it won’t send, and that means we are not following the rules.
  1. Getting Permission: Consent is Key!

  • Ask First! You must get clear permission from your customers before sending them RCS messages.
  • Be Clear: Tell them exactly what kind of messages you’ll be sending (like promotions, updates, or reminders).
  • Tell Them How Often: Let them know how many messages they can expect to receive.
  • Easy Opt-Out: Always provide a simple way for customers to unsubscribe (like replying “STOP”).

Why These Rules Matter:

  • These rules are in place to protect your customers and build trust.
  • Following them ensures that RCS messaging is a positive experience for everyone.
  • It also keeps us compliant with telecommunication regulations.
